Again, I am soaking up all the Olympic competition I can find on the TV machine, so not so much time spent posting here. I'm thinking I might come back and add more to this a bit later. Hoping...
Buddy Cole was on again last night doing wonderful reporting about the Olympics. He has great journalistic instincts and is almost as good as Stephen at finding out all the news in a news story. Let's hope we see more of him.
We found out about the stress of being a pro football player.
And Charlie Crist was on talking about his book, "The Party's Over: How the Extreme right Hijacked the GOP and I Became a Democrat."

It's Not a Contest, But I'm Winning
Stephen totally enjoys the Olympics, but finds the sweet sound of victory to be the best part. It can sometimes be difficult for sound technicians to do their job. For example, trying to get the sound of oars in the water while a helicopter is buzzing overhead. So, they cheat. Wait, wait, it's not all that bad. They just get good samples of the sounds before the competitions and then use that during the games. No problem. Also no fun. Stephen had fun sounds for many of the competitions. I think ratings would soar if they used his ideas. We also found out what a fun place the Olympic Village is.
We learned more about Mitt Romney's visit to the UK and got to see video clips of him putting his best foot forward. Stephen can't wait to see him in Israel. I'm sure we will hear about that leg of the journey.
Is there such a thing as a fake teenager? Apparently, yes there is. Here's the story. In short, Chick-fil-A's president Dan Cathy only supports what he says is the biblical definition of marriage and family. Then the Muppets stopped supporting the restaurant. Then a Facebook account of one Abby Farle appeared suddenly and the photo looked exactly like a stock photo of a teenage girl. You know, one of those photos of smiling people that you can buy and use in your magazine ads and save the expense of having to hire a photographer and model. Wow, Chick-fil-A really fowled up!
Sir Peter Westmacott, British Ambassador to the U.S. was the guest tonight. First off, I have to say that I loved his red socks. The two cleared up how to address each other. Sir Peter is just a Sir, while Stephen is a Sir in addition to many other things, including Heavyweight Champion of the World. We Americans do enjoy a special relationship, (lot of that going around lately) with the British in that we share a language, a culture, and business dealings to name just a few things. The two Sirs talked a lot about the Olympics and also about how to be an ambassador. So it was an interesting discussion with no conflict. It's a great way to head into the Olympics.

Vancouver Olympics
Stephen will be back on the air tonight with a new show. What will he talk about? Well, so much has been happening at the Olympics up in Vancouver. He could talk about the city, the weather, the food, the people. But chances are he will mostly talk about himself. And why not? Isn't that what most people are interested in?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that he will at least mention the Team Norway Pants. I'm thinking he might even own a pair just like it by now. He is a fashion icon, so that's just logical thinking that he would do that. If you watched any of the Curling when Norway was playing, you will know what I'm talking about.
So, watch tonight and then come back when I either claim to be psychic or else make up some excuse why Stephen didn't even mention the Team Norway Pants.

Media Bias
Here's an interesting side note related to my earlier posting today. Also on the Conservapedia home page is a blurb about Michelle Obama. Conservapedia all but calls her a liar when she talked about her "best memories" of the Olympics. She claimed to be a young girl while watching and cheering for Olga and Nadia, Carl Lewis and others. Conservapedia (which coincidentally has a whole section about Bias in Wikipedia) says Michelle was 20 years old when Carl Lewis was in the Olympics in 1984, so not really a young girl. That's true, but they fail to mention that Olga Korbut was in the 1972 Olympics which would make Michelle 12 years younger, or only 8 years old. And Nadia Comaneci was first in the 1976 Olympics, which would make Michelle 12 years old. So while Conservapedia has their underwear all in a bunch about media bias, they are perfectly fine practicing it themselves.
