Call Off the Dogs

Just a reminder, it's reruns on The Colbert Report this week. But that's okay. Lots of times people miss part of the action the first time they watch a TV show, read a book or listen to a song.

Stephen's guest for this show was Alexandra Pelosi who has a new documentary, "Citizen U.S.A." She went on a road trip across the nation, to all 50 states, and talked to people who had just become citizens of the United States.

Here's something that I did not know. I guess I was getting a cookie while this part of the show was on the first time around. Stephen had planned to have 15 people become citizens on his show that night. It was even approved by Homeland Security. But, someone, (no names) in the White House put a stop to Stephen's big plans. Even though there was a swearing-in ceremony in Washington D.C. at a circus, apparently Stephen lacks that certain air of dignity to do so on his show.

"What does that say about you?" Alexandra Pelosi asked of a sad and dejected Stephen Colbert.
