Go Buy Some Postage Stamps

 Are you feeling a bit down right about now? That's okay, lots of people are. One thing you can do is to reach out to others - to your friends and family. I know it is easy to send off a text or email, but try doing this. Get some paper and a pen and write an actual letter. Ask how your friend/family member is doing. Tell them you hope they are fine. Write a bit about what you have been doing lately. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Did you take the dog for a walk and he saw a squirrel? Is there a funny joke you heard? Did you see something in the news that made you smile? (That can happen, usually at the end of the news broadcast.)

Just write a letter and mail it off. If you don't have a stamp, you can get some at your local Post Office, or other places around town. Our grocery store sells stamps and so does our drug store. You can also buy them online at USPS. There is a bit of a cost to mail them to you, but it is quite conveneient. And they have lots of neat designs. You can get some Bugs Bunny stamps, some Fruits and Vegetables stamps, some cool Tyrannosaurus Rex stamps, 1969 First Moon Landing stamps, U.S. Flag stamps and Made of Hearts stamps. Plus lots more.

If you order online, do check the price. Some are sold in booklets, some by the page and some in a coil. There are some coils that have 100 stamps, so that's going to cost you $55.00. However, there are some people that send out a lot of mail and they buy the large coils that set you back $5,500.00! Five thousand dollars!!!!! So just make sure you double check your online order. Ouch. You would have to write a lot of letters if you bought that many stamps.

I Choose Three Songs

In the Colbert Questionert I said that I would listen to "Rainbow Connection" (sung by Kermit the Frog). However there are two other songs that come to mind for that question. I think Stephen was actually asking what song was the favorite song of all favorite songs. But I choose to have three songs.

In addition to "Rainbow Connection", I also really like the way Indigo Girls sing "Finlandia."Also known as "This is My Song."

And not to be forgotten is another favorite, "Desert Pete sung by The Kingston Trio."

All three of those songs are good to listen to when you are feeling a little down in the dumps. They are guaranteed to lift your spirits.

Colbert Questionert

 If you are paying attention to what is happening in the world, you know that everyone is taking the Colbert Questionert. And by everyone I mean Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep and George Clooney. But I just know in my heart of hearts that soon everyone will have taken the questionert. Just in case you did not see the interviews and just in case you get a chance to be on the A Late Show, here are the questions and answers. (My answers. Your answers might be different than these.)

Kumail Nanjiani

I have been hearing something about Kumail Nanjiani. Apparently everyone is tweeting all day and night because he looks too good. What? He looks marvelous and people are complaining? Well, I decided that I need to check that out.

So, I looked him up on the Google machine and found some photos. I printed one of them and put it on my wall right by this computer. But, is that the appropriate photo in order to judge whether he looks too good or just good enough? Hmmm.

So, I printed another photo from good old Google, a different photo of Kumail Nanjiani, and put that on the wall next to the other one that is by this computer. Both photos look pretty good. But still not sure if he looks good.

Okay, let me print a few more.

Well, I have now printed twenty different photos of him and put those photos on the wall by this computer. I have studied the photos and have come to the conclusion that dang, he looks good. I guess I can now take the photos down.

But, maybe just leave them all up a little bit longer. I want to be 100% sure that he looks good, then I can take the photos down. Or not.
