So, here it is Saturday and I'm writing about Friday. And with good reason. As promised, Stephen Colbert made a grand appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to sing "Friday". It was magnificent. Jimmy Fallon joined in with his usual exuberance. Then magically, Taylor Hicks appeared, bursting onto the stage. Wow, then came the Knicks City Dancers. The Roots were in grand form as always. The audience added as much enthusiasm as you typically see on The Colbert Report.
It was, as Jimmy said, the moment we've been waiting for. Stephen Colbert was a man of Jimmy's word.
With generous donations of $1, $5, even $8, they raised over $86,000 for Donors Choose.
Wonderful!
Now, my lingering question. When will Stephen put out a CD of songs? Yes there was the Christmas stuff, but something with year-long appeal. Stephen is a great, no, greatest singer and the world deserves to hear his golden tones.
