Bull

Oh, I know what you are thinking. You are thinking I am going to really complain about something. You think I am going to say something is a bunch of, well, you know what.

But no! This is good stuff. After a long time of watching really old shows on TV there are some new shows to watch. We have the TiVo machine hooked up by a series of tubes to our TV machine so we can watch our favorite shows when we want to.

Bull is back on. And it is on CBS and that is where Stephen lives now with his wife and a few friends. The lucky thing is that you can also watch it on the computer machine. So if you didn't see it and if you didn't record it, go find it and watch it. If you don't have time, then here is the best part. You can just watch the last few minutes and that is so uplifting. Even if you know nothing about the show, if you haven't ever watched it, just watch here. It will make you feel good and smile a bit.

1202021

Yes, that's right. It's a palindrome. And it is also the day that Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th POTUS. As Richard Dreyfuss once said, "This means something."

Okay, it is just a bunch of numbers that indicates what the month and date and year are. So what. However, I think we are seeing all around the globe that a lot of people are very excited, relieved, happy, joyous and yes, even hopeful about our President Elect and our Vice President Elect.

Joe Biden will be sworn in on 1/20/2021 and it will be a big deal. Kamala Harris will be sworn in on 1/20/2021 and it will be a big deal.

I can hardly wait.

Helen Reddy

Helen Reddy died yesterday. I think Stephen would have had her on his show if he had just thought about it a bit. I imagine there are so many guests and not enough time.

Go here to read about her.

Then let's all sing "I Am Woman" together.

Better Know A Ballot

Yeah, you better know a ballot, man.

Okay okay, that doesn't sound so nice. I just wanted to get your attention. Stephen has single handedly solved the whole election kerfluffle. You need only go to his, well would it be a sister website??? Maybe just an additional website or alternative website. Whatever.

Go look at Better Know A Ballot . com to find out what you need to know, in whichever state you live in, to vote on November 3, or even to vote before that. Stephen has 3 columns with 17 states in each column to give you all 50 states. Uh oh. Math tells me that 3x17=51. Oh, I see, he also has Washington, D. C. listed with the states. Does he know something I don't know? Are we finally going to let D.C. join us after all these years? Well it sure would be the right thing to do.But hey, they need to know all the details also.

But I digress.

VOTE !

You can find out at Stephen's neat website. Just poke around a bit. Do not wait until mid October to start thinking about this. And for gosh darn sakes, make a plan for voting. Know if you are registered. Find out how to register. Learn where you vote. Find the dates to vote early.

Then, learn about your candidates for your community. The local and state races are very important, so vote for those people also.

Remember - Better Know A Ballot

And listen man. You only get to vote once. Some yokel is standing on the street corner downtown telling people to vote twice. Good way to get free room and board - in jail!

Nice Hair

I always forget to mention it, but finally I am remembering. Stephen's hair is getting so long and it looks great. He has a wonderful head of hair. I vote for him not cutting it for at least another year. I think it would make him look younger, even if a bit of gray does show up.

I should tell him that the next time I see him. I just hope I see him before he decides to get it cut. And now I am wondering if he will get it cut just because I posted about his hair.

You know there are people, very powerful people, who would love to have such glorious hair. You know what else? Someone should write a musical about hair. Stephen could be in it. He sings. He dances. A real talent.

Pick out a nice outfit to wear and be sure you have all your school supplies. I am wearing something casual because, why not?

I am assuming that you will be attending the University. It's free, so that is a great thing to know. Classes are on Tuesday and last about 5 minutes. I hope I have all this information correct. Go here to find out more. You won't be disappointed.

Capitibus Excelis. Aperire Corda.

I am so excited. I have decided to go back to school!

A wonderful opportunity just recently presented itself, so I am going to go for it. I will have more information as it becomes available. It's an online school, so no travel involved. I'm hoping homework will be minimal because I keep so busy with everything else that I won't really have time to devote hours each day to studying.

What I can tell you so far is that the teaching staff is excellent. It is an online school, so no travel required. That is a big plus in my book!

And there is a motto for the school, so that adds to the charm.

Capitibus Excelsis. Aperire Corda.

I don't know what it means. Maybe that is something I will learn when I register or when classes start. I have the perfect place on my wall for a diploma. This is going to be so intriguing. And, yes, educational.

OOPS! This could be awkward.

So, can a child of immigrants serve as the Vice President or President of this country? Inquiring minds want to know. Nikki Haley wants to know.

This is going to be awkward for that guy that says Kamala Harris can't be Vice President because, well - immigrants. If Kamala Harris can't be Vice President, then neither can Nikki Haley be Vice President.

How can that guy exclude Kamala Harris? Rumors, for a long time, have been that Nikki Haley wants to run for higher office. People can't say Yes to Nikki and No to Kamala. That would be crazy talk.

Zoomers Punk Boomers

I admit it.

Sometimes I just post something because I thought of a cute title. While this could be about almost anything, it is about the humongous rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Turns out it wasn't very big at all. The younger folks registered for free tickets with no intent of going at all. That surprised the older folks who were putting on this gig. While the older folks said there would be one million people, estimates say there were around 6,200 people in the BOK Center for the rally.

Ooohhh. Disappointing.

But even if there was some zoomer punking going on, does that explain everything about the poor turnout? Maybe not. Consider this. You are a person. You sign up for a ticket or two. You hear that the BOK Center has 19,199 seats and you hear that one million people have tickets.

You realize that your ticket means nothing. The chances of you getting into BOK Center are pretty slim. Why spend all that time and money traveling to Tulsa only to stand around in the street - blocks away from the event venue?

How many other people wondered and then realized the same thing?

So, basically anyone and everyone can get tickets but no one can get in. Okay, a few special chosen ones who left behind their job and house and came days early to camp out on a sidewalk manage to get in. I can see that scenario having a sort of domino effect. Anyone and everyone gets tickets and lots of boomers decide it is not worth the trouble of going.

Maybe if the planners had a larger venue and stopped giving out tickets when the place was full, then they could fill up a stadium or music house or convention center.

Now we have to wonder if that main boomer ended up punking all the other boomers. And the zoomers get the last laugh.

Juneteenth

Today is Juneteenth.

Did you know that? I did. Every year there is news in the newspapers and on the TV machine about local celebrations and also celebrations in some of the larger cities around the US of A.

There is a person who seems not to have known much about it and now he says he made it famous. Funny thing though, it was famous before he talked about it. (I think you know who I am talking about. Yes, it's Donald Trump.)

For example, San Francisco is hosting its 70th Juneteenth celebration this year. Did Donald Trump make it famous 70 years ago when he was just a tiny kid? Me thinks not.

Something else related to that. Here is what Kayleigh McEnany said at the press briefing about Juneteenth.

"And as to Juneteenth, there were a lot of people who didn't know what Juneteenth was, and Google search has proved that. And you can see I looked at the chart on Google searches on Juneteenth - and this year, they went like this. (Motions upward.) And that's thanks to President Trump."

I do not think that the number of Google searches proves anything like that at all.

Think of all the searches on Donald Trump on Google. I don't know how many there are, but I would assume there could be as many as 100, maybe even 1000 searches about him. Does that mean that no one knows who Donald Trump is because now there are a lot of Google searches about him?

These are confusing times we are living in. Thanks to Donald Trump and his administration for helping in that effort.

So, lots of you two-leggeds probably already know about Pluto Living. But some of you don't. Here is your chance to find out. Go over to listen to her sage advice and have a chuckle or two also.

Could You Do Me A Favor, Though?

Monday, April 13, is my friend's birthday. He lives in Alabama. Is there someone who would be willing to come to my house and pick up a birthday card that I signed and then bring it to his house by Monday? I would be willing to pay you 55 cents.

What? No takers? No one is willing to do this little favor? I said I would pay you 55 cents!

Okay, I am pulling your leg. But my point is - USPS. Our friendly Post Office. They have been getting the short end of the stick for a long time. And now it is looking even worse. Their business is down like everyone else. We really need them to be doing well. They are there for us when we need them most. What would we do if they were not here for us? How would I mail a birthday card to my friend in Alabama. Oh, sure. You say just send an email greeting. But that is so not the way to say Happy Birthday. Send it by some delivery service, one of the big trucks that delivers packages? How much do you think that would cost? Not 55 cents, I guarantee.

I could go on and on. But here's the thing. The Post Office has been there for you. Now you need to be there for them. Buy a page of stamps. You can order them online and have them delivered by.... your letter carrier! Send some real actual letters to your friends. They would love it.

And, let your representatives in Congress know that you want the Post Office to be there for all of us, today and tomorrow.

Now, go write a letter and mail it to someone you love.

The Important Stuff

Two things that I noticed on the internet tube recently.

First, Jimmy Fallon's daughter lost her tooth! Can anything be more important than that? Luckily, she was able to let everyone know about this important event on the TV machine. And as we all know, the Tooth Fairy is considered an essential worker. So no worries there.

Second, it was Zach Braff's birthday and I missed it, but it's not like he is the captain of a starship or anything like that. I can't remember everyone's birthday. But now that I have mentioned it, well, Happy Birthday Zach.

And there was a great photo to celebrate his birthday. It had everything a happy photo should have. There was Zach and his dog, both taking a nap. (Dogs are better at this than humans. It's kind of their thing.) A nice gentle rain is falling in the background on a variety of trees including one bonsai tree. Beautiful pale yellow daylilies grace the front left side of the photo. Soft blue cushions on the couch just melt your cares away.

Two things. So happy. So calm.

Hang in there everyone.

Happy Birthday William Shatner

It has been way too long since I have written pearls of wisdom here. But I could not let this day go by without joining pretty much everyone in the world in wishing William Shatner a Very Very Happy Birthday. Enjoy your cake, Bill. You do deserve to eat all of it by yourself.

Next year I will try to get over to your place and bring a present of some kind. Something small, furry, but defintely not a Tribble. No, you don't need that kind of trouble.

Live Long and Prosper.
